Bought the small size to keep my opal safe on a flight and the padding actually feels substantial, not like those thin velvet bags that do nothing. The microfiber inside is silky enough that I'm not worried about scratches, and it survived a wash after my trip without falling apart.
Tossed a couple of loose moonstones in this for a weekend trip and they came out without a scratch, the microfiber lining is genuinely soft. Threw it in the wash afterward and it held up fine too.
The padding actually surprised me, way thicker than the thin drawstring bags I've used before. My tumbled stones don't clink together when I zip it in my carry-on, and it survived a machine wash without falling apart.
